What can you expect at the polo trial day?
Our Polo Trial Day is designed to teach you the basics of polo in a fun and safe way. In just three hours, you'll learn everything you need to get started:
Theoretical introduction
Training on the ground with the “walking sticks” Before you get on the horse, you practice with the so-called “walking sticks” to develop a feel for the movement of the stick and to refine your technique.
Introduction to Riding and Horse Control. The foundation of polo is the ability to ride safely on a horse. Don't worry, beginners are welcome too! Our experienced instructors will show you how to lead and control the horse safely.
Riding: After the initial introduction, you'll get on the horse and practice riding. We'll make sure you feel comfortable and confident as you take your first few rides.
The Perfect Swing: Practice Hitting from a (Wooden) Horse. The polo swing requires precision and practice. In this phase, you'll learn how to properly guide the mallet and hit the ball with control—all from a horse!
Combining riding and hitting the ball. At the end of the trial day, you'll combine everything you've learned: riding and hitting the ball into the goal. You'll discover how much fun and adrenaline-pumping this combination can be!
